Wristify

thermal comfort, reimagined

Wristify is a wearable technology that influences human thermal perception,

providing improved and personalized thermal comfort in the form of a bracelet.

Do you have content available for representatives of the media?

Yes! Our press release and photo package are available.

How did you come up with the idea for Wristify?

The vision for Wristify evolved through many rounds of iterative prototyping in the months leading up to the MADMEC competition, which was made possible by seed funding provided by MADMEC sponsors. It began with the empirical observations about how our prototype worked and felt, which lead us to dig deeper into the scientific field of human thermal perception. Our idea began with an experience that we knew felt great and evolved into a device that let us tailor thermal profiles for optimized thermal stimulation on the wrist.

How has the collaboration worked among the four co-inventors?

The success of our project thus far is largely a product of our team’s diverse skill set and our enthusiasm for working together.  We have a wide skill set ranging from technical to interpersonal, allowing everyone to contribute to the many facets of our project, including technical development, hands-on prototyping, design, and communication. Our team members’ goals and passions for this project are well aligned and we look forward to continuing to work together, ultimately bringing our product to market.

When will a product be available?

Currently, there is still a lot of technological and product development before we have a product ready for sale. We will soon begin working with design and development firms to improve the aesthetics and functionality of our next-generation prototype, and we continue to make progress on technology development on a daily basis. We estimate we’re still 1-2 years away from our first publicly available product, but we are looking to secure the funding, collaborations, and additional team members to accelerate the development process.

Do you need early “beta” testers?

Extensive testing of our product will undoubtedly be a valuable part of our product development and we appreciate the many people that have reached out to us about participating in these trials. When it is appropriate we will be using our mailing list to reach out to and identify the right group of people to participate in our studies. For now, future Wristifriends can sign up for our mailing list.

Have you received other funding, in addition to the $10K MADMEC prize money?

We are exploring all types of additional funding and are looking for resources that best fit our short and long term goals for Wristify. We welcome conversations with potential investors who are as excited as we are about making the Wristify experience available to the public.
